In this memorial set on the slopes of Jujak Peak overlooking the city, there were busts of 120 guerrilla leaders and “revolutionary martyrs” who had lost their lives during the anti-Japanese struggle. Lot of people come to lay flowers, most of them in groups.

Teacher at « Kim Jong Suk » school in Pyongyang - North Korea

Visiting a school or kindergarden in North Korea is always a strange time, as you know everybody's waiting for you, and you know that everything is planned for any seconds you'll be inside. So it's like a race that starts: you have to stay for 2 minuts there, then 5 there (for a show for example), then again 2 minutes, just to see a sample of a a lesson about the glorious life of Kim Il Sung...
On this picture, the kids were playing to guess the name of the animals. It was forbidden to help the one who was trying to find the answer, that's why the teacher is acting like this.
The best pupil wins a badge with..a red star!

Opera in Pyongyang - North Korea

This is hard to believe, but in Pyongyang , you can see this kind of show, with wigs, songs, clothes. This was a russian Opera performed by north koreans actors and singers.
I did not understand anything for 2 hours, even if the lyrics, in korean, were displayed on giant screens...
The show is also played in the countryside, as in every village, there is a theatre.
